Vouchers for any Sailing

We also offer the opportunity to buy a voucher for any future sailing not yet advertised. This is a great idea for a Christmas present or a Birthday gift with the added bonus of protecting you from any future price increases (please note that prices will increase in 2017).

There are different types of voucher for different sailings that you can buy for as many spaces as you like up to our maximum passenger capacity of twelve.

Sail from Queenborough All Tide Landing (ME11 5AA) to the Redsand Towers

Four and a half hour trip (approximately)

We sail out into the Thames Estuary and on to the Redsand Towers.

£50 per head

Sail from Rochester Pier (ME1 1SW) to the Redsand Towers

Six and a half hour trip (approximately)

We sail from opposite Rochester Castle, past Chatham Historic Dockyard, between the Napoleonic Forts, out into the Thames Estuary and on to the Redsand Towers.

£60 per head

Grand Forts Tour

This superb eight plus hour adventure has to sail from Queenborough All Tide Landing (ME11 5AA) because otherwise it would be a ten or eleven hour trip! We sail to the SS Richard Montgomery, the Grain Fort, the Knock John Fort, the Shivering Sands Towers and the Redsand Towers.

£75 per head

These are non-boarding or, as we describe them, viewing trips, but they are still the best way to see and photograph the towers because X-Pilot is the official Project Redsand supply vessel and we can get closer than any other vessel! On these trips you can expect to spend one hour sailing between, through and around the towers offering some exceptional opportunities for photography. Please note that return times, especially on trips from Rochester and Grand Forts Tours, are approximate.

Alan Harmer, the Captain of X-Pilot, and Martin Harmer, the Owner of X-Pilot, welcome your call if you wish to discuss the details or have any questions. The Small Print
All sailings are subject to the weather and tidal restrictions. Payment for individual bookings is in advance and becomes non-refundable seven days prior to the sailing date. Hire of the boat for a party is payable in advance. Hire of the boat is non-refundable. Every effort will be made to find a mutually suitable alternative date should the trip be cancelled due to the weather. Should you need to cancel your trip due to personal reasons we will be happy to discuss this and provisionally arrange a mutually suitable alternative provided we are given a minimum of 24 hours notice.

Filming and Photography

X-Pilot is the perfect hire vessel for all kinds of filming and photography. She offers two stable decks to film or photograph from. Our track record is all the proof you need! Please visit the News/Events page for full details of all the recent work we have done with companies ranging from the BBC to the RSPB. We also offer a commercial marine photography and filming service of shipping and marine structures with either our own skilled marine photographer or filming cameraman of broadcast quality or your own camera people..

X-Pilot Makes It Special

Celebrate your birthday or anniversary in ultimate style! Spend the day, evening, or both, aboard X-Pilot with your friends and family. We can provide meals if required and simply ask if you'd like us to suggest some activities and fun.

Maybe you'd like to have a barbecue either on board or on a secluded beach or small island of your choice.

Perhaps you'd simply like to lounge on the upper deck with a glass of bubbly or a nice cold beer!

Take a calming cruise on the River Medway and take in the sights. Sail under Rochester bridge for an excellent view of the castle and cathedral. Or take a trip round the Isle of Sheppey. You could stop at Queenborough for a pint or two and then back on board to cruise to Faversham Creek, a quaint and quiet area of natural beauty. Or maybe you'd like to go a bit further and on to Whitstable harbour famous for its oysters. On the way you could visit the wind farm located offshore, or perhaps, weather permitting, take the RIB out and see if you can spot some seals. Why not take a look at the old gun forts in the Thames Estuary dating from World War II, or visit the sunken wreck of the Richard Montgomery?

Take the helm of X-Pilot! Alan, X-Pilot's skipper, is happy to supervise novice mariners. Imagine the look on your loved one's face when you tell them that they will be piloting a 72 ton vessel.

Take X-Pilot's RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) out for spin, with its powerful outboard you'll leave some serious wake!

Children under supervision are also welcomed aboard X-Pilot and would surely love a trip to a deserted beach for some fun and games. Let us know in advance and we could organize a treasure hunt or beach party! And with prior arrangement you can even bring your well behaved family dog.

Fishing

X-Pilot offers the gentleman's fishing experience; the large deck areas offer a more spacious fishing environment than other vessels and her stability means that you stay fishing while others are being tossed about in the gentlest of choppy water. The Captain, however, is not a fisherman; we offer the vessel only, you need to bring your own kit, experience and decide where you would like to fish.

Fish from the main deck or take a loftier perch on the upper deck.

X-Pilot is an extremely well equipped vessel boasting GPS and an excellent large, colour fish finder. A flushing toilet, comfortable washroom and central heating will offer more comfort than other fishing vessels and the galley features a cooker, kettle, fridge and microwave!

A standard fishing trip lasts eight hours.

You will need to supply your own bait.

Just call us for a quote.
